Back in the skies ✈

This year started off with me going back to the training centre for 14 days. It feel so surreal that now, it's been a month since I returned to the skies. It's almost like I never left.

Although some things stayed the same, there were a lot of changes that I needed to get used to. Life as I knew it when it comes to flying is no longer the same. However, I knew that this is my bread and butter. I had to return eventually. The 18 months away were necessary for my healing, and I'm happy to be back.

I was back in STC for three weeks. It was a really good refresher. It's amazing how everything came back to me so quickly. From being desk-bound for more than a year, suddenly it was all about safety and emergency procedures and opening the aircraft door. The first time I don the uniform after so long and had to do my hair the way I normally do for work, that's when reality hit me. Although the aviation industry was hit hard due to the pandemic, we're all so blessed to still have our jobs.

2020 was my toughest year, but I'm so thankful for the secondary employment. It was like a safe little bubble for me to reside while I heal internally, and I've met the most amazing people in there as well. How different is it from flying? So different, it's a whole other world. But it was one that I felt like bonds and friendships were easier to create, and I was given the gift of time to fully focus on myself and the inner work I had to do. 2021 was a year I will never forget. There were many pivotal moments in my life, and everything that I went through led me to the person that I am becoming right now as we enter 2022.

So yeah. I guess I'm back, folks!

Enjoy the photo dump ;)

Well, I've missed my me-time in hotel rooms all over the world. So I guess that's one thing I look forward to for every layover. Can't wait till the restrictions ease up so we can walk the streets of our favourite cities again. We're all going to be okay.

To better days ahead.

Love,
Ashhy

  1. Hey, Ashhy! I know that it’s already been 3 months since the new year but I hope you’re doing good I’ve missed hearing your covers and I genuinely do hope that we will get to hear more of #Ashhysings soon (sorry hashtag self-kasi hehe). Your voice is nothing short of euphonious, no less! You deserve all the good things this Dunya has to offer.

    1. Hello D! Gosh, you're so sweet. I have to be honest, I didn't think that people would actually listen to my short covers but thank you, that's so nice to hear! That hashtag, #Ashhysings, I'll take it. All rights reserved to Ms D.

Bless your heart, love. Truly appreciate your kind words ♥

    2. Ashhy!

It’s Mr D, actually, haha (sincere apologies if it comes off as creepy, that’s the last thing i’d want to happen). Why wouldn’t they? They’re truly heaven-sent and I dare vouch for it!
With that being said, Ramadhan Mubarak to you and your loved ones; may this upcoming one be filled with solace and tranquillity, you.
