Adventure in Auckland

Never thought I would be going out in Auckland when I saw that I was rostered for this flight. I told myself, "well, it's another station to hibernate".

I was sick before the flight, I almost wanted to take an mc and give it a miss but I couldn't bring myself to do so because 1) I had a friend on the flight and 2) long flights are so rare for me now that I have it, I have to cherish it. So I blew off the idea of taking leave and just dealt with myself and went for the flight.

Life has this thing about turning things again unexpectedly, and I turned out to have the nicest set of crew ever, and even managed to sightsee in a place where everyone prefers to sleep instead of going out. So all in all, I had a great trip this time. It's been a while.

Oddly, I didn't feel exhausted at all so I had all the energy in the world to go out and explore. I think it's partly because I had such a great company, so sleep just doesn't seem so important anymore.

Honestly, I didn't think that I would ever have an adventure here in Auckland but after my friend suggested to give Whatipu Beach a visit, I was so on board with the idea. We uber-ed down to the location the next morning after breakfast, and I was just blown away by the beauty of the entire place.

It's such a beautiful place, I couldn't even describe how breathtaking it was. To put it simply, it was everything I would ever want if I was planning to spend a day in the wilderness and surrounded by nature, away from the busy city life. The weather was chilly, yet perfect for a nice hike and the sky was beautifully blue.

It reminded me of just how much I love discovering new, scenic places- places I know I could never see back at home.

The whole trip was just refreshing for me, it kind of brings me back to a happy place. I loved it, and I wish to have more of these kind of adventures in the future.

The pictures taken that day were so beautiful, yet nothing compared to how it was in reality. But I guess it is enough for me to remember this enjoyable adventure I had in that one place I would never have dreamt to have found a feeling like this.

I guess that's why they say, "always say yes to adventures", you'll truly never know what will happen.

Love,
Ashhy
