The mind is stronger than I thought

Perhaps my brain got sick and tired of hearing me complain and getting all depressed about my bad eating choices, so it gave me a little kick to run twice the distance I usually do.

The mind got me running a good 5km today.

Thank you, I needed that.

Initially, I was just running at my normal pace. Somehow feeling like I'm so bored of the same old, same old. Then I saw a bus coming to a halt at a traffic junction and challenged myself to the speed of the moving vehicle. Of course it was faster, but I told myself that I have to get to where the bus was before the light turns green again. That's when I found myself sprinting, so light on my feet. I liked the adrenaline, I like the feeling it gave me. Like I could do anything.

That little moment got me feeling a lot more motivated, that's what I needed. I need a little push, I needed to remind myself that running isn't always about going through the motion, just because I needed to lose some weight. It made me realise that actually like to run, it makes me feel good, makes me feel empowered and strong. I tend to forget that sometimes. Until little moments like this sparked something inside of me again.

So I told myself, push a little more. One more round.

Somehow when I set my mind to it, my body felt more energetic, I wasn't tired, I was all ready for it.

And that,
was the best decision I made today.
