One of the proudest and happiest moments for me in the history of Flowers For Sale - The Pastel Picnic Collection. This is literally like a dream come true.
I've had this little humble business of mine, Flowers For Sale, for almost a year now. Initially, I started making floral crowns, without being ambitious. I just wanted to try it out and see the response. But it became a hit, and people just don't stop loving these beautiful crowns and that was my drive to start making this a platform for me to not only display but make a living out of this business. And I did.
Pastel Picnic is the third batch of crowns I'm selling, but it's my second official collection
. The idea of Pastel Picnic was very special because I was just in the cab with Luke one day, heading back to my place to break fast and I started telling him my ideas for FFS. I came up with two ideas that very day because I had so much plans for this, I needed to make it work and I wanted to make it work so badly. So pastel picnic came to me because I wanted a theme for the collection, something that I can work around with. Pastel and flowers go well together, so I made a fusion out of these two beautiful things and made it into this. Approached my girls and I told them the idea, and they got super excited! I asked Fi if she wanted to be my photographer and editor and she immediately had her game face on ever since. I also asked Een if she's willing to do make up for us and she agreed. I really am so thankful for such passionate friends who really believed in me and my little business.
Fi did her research on how the photoshoot should be like, the shots that we can take and the poses the models could do. She was really professional, and I absolutely loved that. There's just something about these girls that I love - and that is their drive to achieve perfection. It's a beautiful thing, because you just KNOW that you won't be disappointed.
Unfortunately, not all of the girls could make it. In the end, there were only four of us - Een, Fi, Fatiha and myself. I was a little disappointed at first, but that feeling went away when I saw how productive we all were at the end of the day. We did it! And we did it well. I couldn't let my customers wait any longer so we launched the Pastel Picnic collection a day after my anniversary, 17th July 2013, which was only 3-4 days after the photoshoot itself.

It was seriously a lot of fun doing this with the girls. It would not be this perfect without my girls, really. I owe it all to them and I can't thank each and every one of these girls enough for everything they've done for me and this collection. I could tell that they're really happy themselves because we all truly had so much fun doing it, even though we were all fasting. This whole photoshoot took so many hours and more than half of it were spent on getting ready so it was really a different kind of experience that you don't get to experience all the time. It was really exciting for all of us, actually, it's like we're really working for a really big project or something.
And special thanks to Luke as well, because he being the sweetheart that he is, he drove me to the flower shop and accompanied me while I spent HOURS just choosing the right flowers. It was the most I've ever spent on flowers and the most time I've ever taken just to choose them. And he was so patient throughout.... it's really amazing. That's why he's always one of the most important person whom I must always remember when I think about the success of FFS. Without my family, Luke and my girls, it would seriously be nothing. And of course, to my customers who has been there from the very start, without them, Flowers For Sale wouldn't grow this much. And I'm so thankfu to God, for everything he has blessed me with. Alhamdulillah.
The Pastel Picnic collection was one of the biggest reasons why FFS is still standing strong. This has been the collection that has gotten the word out and widen the reach. And it's been crazy busy ever since, but I'm so thankful for it all. Each time I catch myself complaining, I will remind myself how my life would never be the same without Flowers For Sale. It's been an amazing journey and I've learnt so, so much along the way.
And now, almost two months later, I'm going to launch a new collection this month. This was the other idea I came up with in the cab with Luke that I mentioned earlier on this post. Super excited! And I can't wait to share it with everyone :)
You are very talented and so humble, really look up to you (: Wish you every success in your pretty business (:
