The search for Chanel espadrilles

Great things always happen when you least expect it and for me, it was the day that I managed to find the pair of shoes that I've been searching for month and months of end in the city I wouldn't expect to find it. 

Ever since I fell in love with this pair of espadrilles last year, it's been on my bucket list. When Luke found out about this, he was determined to get it as my birthday gift. We went to the Chanel store in Singapore with the highest hopes, only to find out that the pair I wanted, which is the espadrilles in black lambskin leather, aren't available in my size. I just didn't like any of the other colours or designs, so we decided to wait till it's available. 

It's hilarious how many phonecalls Luke has made from November till now, just to check its availability. While I on the other end, will check out the stores whenever I'm overseas. I swear to God it's sold out in almost every Chanel stores everywhere, in every city. It kinda seemed normal to find out that it's unavailable that I start to lose hope already. 

When I was in Manchester, I randomly popped into the Chanel store, already expecting to have the same response as I've had thus far. I didn't see the design I wanted on display, but I decided to ask the sales assistant anyway. What's there to lose right? 

The sales assistant went to the back to check, and the minute he came back with the pair of shoes in my size, I just couldn't believe my eyes. I was so overwhelmed by happiness that I went, "Are you serious? You actually have it? I've been searching everywhere for this but they never have it in my size!" 

At that moment, he just seemed like an angel sent from above. I was beyond happy, beyond thankful. It felt like a dream come true. 

I just couldn't wait to tell Luke that I finally found the espadrilles, in a place I least expect to find it, during the flight that wasn't even supposed to happen. Being on standby, I could literally be called up for any flights at all, but somehow I ended up in Manchester and this is where I finally found the pair of shoes I've been looking for. It kinda feels like it was meant to be. Life works in such mysterious ways, don't you think? 

Nonetheless, this really made my day. I was on a serious high for quite some time because I was so overwhelmed by happiness.

I've always loved how they'd wrap your purchase so prettily, it almost feels like a crime to unbox it.

I just... I just had to.

 HAPPINESS OVERLOAD.

I've been wearing it for the past two days now, and it's been so kind to my feet. The best thing about it is probably how casual it looks- I love how it gives a little class even to my most lepak outfits.

It feels so surreal that it's finally mine. I have to say, it's definitely a splurge. Even I cannot deny the ridiculous price that comes with this beautiful pair of espadrilles. But what can I say? I love Chanel to death. I'll just say it's my guilty pleasure.
