I wish I could get a little creative with the title of this post, but nothing comes close to describe how I truly feel about Paris without the word "love".
It's my dream destination. A place I've always wanted to visit one day if I ever had the chance. Thanks to flying, I finally was able to see the beauty in Paris in person. And I love it.
I admire how much the French appreciates art and how they preserve it. I love how aesthetically pleasing the city is, even the malls seemed like it could disguise as a museum and no one could tell without the existence of shops giving it away. I love how designer brands are appreciated, and how everyone takes pride in how they look like and made it seem effortless.
I love how everything feels just a tiny bit more luxurious just because we're in Paris.
Met a sweet Asian girl with her mum, and she helped me take this photo.
At the balcony right outside the Grand Foyer, and I just had to take a picture with the view.
Majestic.
On the first day, which is the touchdown day, I went out to explore on my own. I was just way too excited that sleep is no longer important. Initially, I just wanted to go around the vicinity of the hotel but then I got too adventurous and decided to take the metro down to Opera, which was only a few stops away. I might not be the best at directions, but I'm proud to say that I'm definitely getting a lot better at it. I found my way to Palais Garnier pretty easily, bought the entrance ticket and there I was.
The opera house was majestic. I wouldn't call myself a passionate art lover, but it wasn't hard to get intrigued by how beautifully grand the whole place is. I find myself in awe most of the time I was there. The beautiful marble used for the structure, the chandelier hanging down the ceiling, the paintings which tell a story. It simply isn't something you would just glance upon, take a photo and go. It really keeps you there and you just have to take a couple of minutes to absorb all these mad beauty and appreciate it.
I'm a sucker for aesthetics, and the Palais Garnier was out of this world.
Walking towards the Eiffel Tower!!!
The Inception bridge.
Louvre Museum from the basement of the mall.
On the second day of Paris, I visited the famous city sights- the Eiffel Tower, the Inception bridge and Louvre Du Musee. I was blessed with a senior who decided to bring me out to see more sights although he'd been here so many times. I loved my alone time the day before, but having a companion to go sightseeing made it even better- there's someone to talk to! I'm glad to have a friend in him, he's just so incredibly nice, made this whole Paris experience a whole lot better.
Of course, what is Paris without the Eiffel Tower? I was awestruck when I saw it in person. Suddenly it hit me that yes, I'm in Paris, I'm finally here, it's happening in real life and I'm not just dreaming anymore.
Sometimes I wonder if it's normal to get excited about everything. I just get way too easily impressed every time I travel, everything fascinates me. But then again, that's the joy of travelling right? You pay to experience different cultures, to see things you don't normally see in real life and to experience what you're normally not accustomed to. There's so much uniqueness in every city I've been, it's really hard to stay cool because everything feels like it's the first time.
I love Paris, haven't seen and done everything I wanted to because the time here seemed too short for everything that I've planned out. But I know this won't be the last time I'm here. I'll be back again to complete the rest of my to-do list... sipping tea and eating macaroons while overlooking the Eiffel Tower is still one of it!
Je T'aime, Paris. You truly are a dream.
Love,
Ashhy
