Hi! It's been a while. So I was lucky enough to be rostered for a 4-sector flight early this month, SQ16 (SIN-ICN-SFO) and it's probably my most memorable one so far due to many reasons and to sum it all up, I'm super thankful that this flight happened at such a perfect timing.
Plus everyone on that flight was an angel!!!!!!!!
From my IFS, to my Chief, to the LS/LSSes, the Korean stewardesses and the rest of the crew (who were also my awesome makan/sightsee kakis for the entire 7 days), they were all so lovely beyond words. I was deployed to work in business class (although not trained yet) for two sectors due the odd crew complement, but it probably was the most rewarding thing I've taken from this flight. I actually like working in JCL!
You need these kind of crew to actually boost your confidence a little, you know what I'm saying. Yes, I was put in a very difficult position because I didn't know anything about working in business class as I was not trained. And it would be easy for the crew to just leave me be and let me do the minor tasks, but I will learn nothing in return. But instead, the crew on this flight was so incredibly encouraging and patient with me.
Ok, so that's my little story. Haha. Let's go back to the travel post- let me share with you about Seoul!
Seoul, South Korea
Shopping street near Ewha Womans University where we had our brunch, a little shopping and where some of us also had their hair done!
Myeongdong! MAJOR LOVE.
This was our brunch and it was SO GOOD.
Love love.
Jjimdak, which was so so so so good. I can't with Korean food, everything just tastes awesome!
So I was craving for a sweet treat and decided to try the Tiramisu ice-cream and it's officially my FAVOURITE out of all the street food in Myeongdong! #majormajorlove
For the whole 7 days, I think I took more snaps on Snapchat than pictures! Hence, the lack of pictures. I just remember eating a whole lot. We had fried chicken after touching down, and I haven't had fried chicken for a long, long time but I was like "f*ck it, it's Korea" so I HAD to have fried chicken and my love for fried food came back in an instant. And their spicy potato fries, my gosh, best thing on Earth.
The next day, we had to leave to operate a flight to San Francisco already, so all the sightseeing, the shopping and the food adventure had to continue when we came back. But I find myself already so in love with Korea after that 1st night. I just love everything about it? I can't really put my finger on it but there's just something about Korea.
So Korea is a shopping haven for all skincare and make up fans, and I find myself so in love with Korean skincare now that I wish I had bought more! It's crazy cheap there as compared to the prices in Singapore too.
And my favourite part of Myeongdong is..... THE STREET FOOD.
We tried everything that we could possibly try, also because our dear Adeline was all like "must try this!" and then we'll share it. Oh gosh, my stomach was crazy full by the end of it all plus I'm not much of a foodie when it comes to my travels, but when you have a foodie like Adeline in the group, you've got to try everything she recommends okay. My diet was really thrown to a corner for the trip, but it was SO worth it.
San Francisco, California
Breakfast at Mama's!
Look at the spread- friggin' awesome!
On our way to the coit tower! And this slop was no joke ok #almostdied
SHOPPINGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Damage (absolutely) done.
Needless to say, I spent all my allowance and more for this trip. It's just so hard not to! There's so much shopping to do in both Seoul and San Francisco. Plus it was the time of the year I had this crazy obsession with MAC lipsticks so I literally grabbed and bought everything I fancied. It's crazy, impulsive shopping but heck it! I love shopping.
So much eating and so much shopping with a great bunch of crew. This trip is definitely one of the top ten trips I've had. I don't know when I'll be lucky enough to get another SQ16 but really, really can't wait for the next one!!!
Will be updating this space again soon with a post on my trip to Cappadocia, Turkey soon!
Till then!
Love,
Ashhy
Hi Ashhy!
ReplyDeleteMay i ask what did you wear for your SIA interview?
Hello dear, I wore a knee-length figure hugging floral dress from Dorothy Perkins :)
DeleteDid you wear the same dress on the second day interview too? :)
ReplyDeleteOn the second day, I just wore something formal that I could find in my wardrobe haha, because I didn't expect to even get to the 2nd day! I guess it doesn't really matter what you wear, as long as you look decent and make a good impression. All the best!
